Marysa is the first winner of many to come! This time we gave away an Orange Vapur Water Bottle, and we will soon be giving away other products on the Way Basics blog. It’s our way of giving back to the Way Basics community!

Your name and where you’re from – Marysa, New York (Capital Region)
How did you hear about Way Basics? I think I stumbled upon Way Basics from a “green” website. I am always looking up information on environmentally friendly lifestyles, and Way Basics is fantastic. I have a Master’s Degree in Resource Management and Way Basics is a great site to browse some cool modern items, and I like how it has everything from kids items to sophisticated home decor. I’m thrilled I won the Vapur and I am definitely going to have to buy a Thinksport stainless bottle!
What you like to do in your spare time – spend time with the kids (including getting outdoors as much as possible with them), hiking, traveling, reading, cooking
An interesting factoid about yourself - I spent a summer and a semester in Arizona at the Biosphere2, it was absolutely amazing.

Announcing the second round of the Messy Room Contest! Made popular by Way Basics fans from across the country, here is your chance to air your dirty laundry and win some cash for the clutter!
Organization seems so simple, yet many times it’s just short of unachievable—that is, without the help of Way Basics of course! Last time we ran this contest we focused on messy bedrooms, so this time around we’ll be focusing on messy/disorganized living rooms and family rooms.
The Dirt: Send us a photo of your messy living room to talktous@waybasics.com. Please include yourself in the photo along with your name. We’ll keep entries open until the end of the week (Friday October 1st). The top entries will be announced right here on our blog on Monday October 4th, then we’ll let the loyal Way Basics blog followers vote on their pick for the winner of the contest.

As winter begins to loosen its grip, we find the familiar smell of flowers blooming and birds singing in time. Sigh.. What a wonderful reminder of the warm summer months to come—aaaand—spring cleaning.
This annual tradition of kicking out the winter blues summons morose memories of cleaning for weeks, only to find ourselves settling for stuffing everything in the closet and locking it up tight like Fort Knox. Not this spring!
We know that you all love contests, so this year we are having a messy closet contest in honor of the celebrated spring cleaning season. Whoever has the closet in need of the most help will win a $200 shopping spree at waybasics.com with free shipping. Spring cleaning doesn’t sound so bad now does it?
How do I participate? All you have to do is take a picture of your messy closet and email the pic to talktous@waybasics.com. From there, we will choose the top pictures and post them on our facebook wall where Way Basics fans will vote on the winner.
When is the deadline? We are accepting entries for one week, ending on March 10th. At this point, we will select the finalists and let the fans on facebook vote for the winner. Good luck everyone!
